Site-Seeing with Jan Perry
What can you say
about Bob Dylan? Plenty apparently, if the number of sites dedicated to him are any
indication. You can see him perform Sunday night at the Cintas Center. In the meantime, you
can read all about him at some of these sites.
http://www.new-pony.com/anecdotes.html. This
amazing collection from RK is just about the best ''fan-created site'' I've ever seen for any
performer. Each page is filled with information, anecdotes, tidbits and stories you won't find
anywhere else. Pages are attractive and easy to navigate. Be sure to visit the ''back pages.''

n.se/obrecht/backpages. Guitarists, philosophers and fans will all find something of
interest on these pages. There are lyrics marked with guitar chords for nearly every song -
with multiple versions for studio, live concert and even outtakes and bootleg performances.
Add to that, the ''Self-ordained Professors'' section with articles about the method and
meaning of Dylan's songs and style. Some photos you will only find here.
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/6752. The Bob Dylan Critical Corner is dedicated to critical analysis of Dylan's work. You'll find
an archive with record, concert and book reviews as well as articles looking at Dylan's work
from a wide variety of vantage points. Readers are invited to contribute.
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Balcony/9714/ While Blind Willie's Dylan Corner isn't the biggest site online, it does cover
a side of the artist rarely discussed - the sometimes sly, sometimes downright corny sense of
humor. Read a few ''from-the-stage'' stories and jokes included here.
http://www.bobonourside.cwc.net. As if there were any
doubt Dylan's influence would live long past his own career, I found dozens of sites for bands
who include his songs in their set lists. This is the home page for ''With Bob On Our Side'' a
tribute band from the UK dedicated to his music. If you have Real Audio, you can even hear
them perform.
http://www.bobdylan.com. Obvious but
still worth a mention. Check in to the News page to read some notes on the current tour.

As Tim puts it on this page, ''I am a BIG Bob Dylan fan. Not the biggest, but a big fan
nonetheless.'' His recounting of his trip ''to see his Bobness open for the Grateful Dead''
with ''Jen the super cool intern'' is just too cool to not be included here. (But I have to
ask, am I the only one who thinks his ''red'' rendering of the star makes him look more like
the devil than Dylan?)
