Do you need a little holiday spirit to get you through the day these days? Visit these cheery sites:
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/7134/Christmas/xmas.htm. Click anywhere in the brightly colored graphic to go to one of eight magical spots, or scroll down to read about each special section at the Absolutely Christmas site.
http://blackdog.net/holiday/christmas. In addition to cool games, interesting stories and some beautiful blue snowflakes, Blackdog offers a great recipe for Santa's hungry reindeer.
http://www.geocities.com/thesantaexpress. Move over Harry Potter, you're not the only one with a train station. Come ride the Santa Express. Send St. Nick an e-mail, read about the big guy's annual journey and then help him find his missing toy.
http://www.akidsheart.com. This is one of the best sites I've seen that combines the meaning of Christ's birth with the fun children associate with Christmas. The bright graphics are right out of a paint box and there are New Year's and winter activities as well.
http://www.chickydoodles.com/christmas2.html. This one's for the grownups - in particular, grownups who are fond of Michael T. Weiss and the ''Pretender'' series. Strange but worth a moment just to gawk, it's an interesting entry from ChickyDoodles.
http://www.rainbow-magic.com/holidays/christmas/index.html. Once you get past the enchanted Christmas tree forest, you'll find all sorts of divine holiday diversions. You might want to visit the other magical pages at www.rainbow-magic.com.
http://www.geocities.com/kcollin9/index2.html. Read a simple text and enjoy the graphics.
http://www.edhelper.com/Christmas.htm. Here's a good one for teachers trying to turn the corner be fore the Christmas break. There are worksheet printouts with holiday themes, including Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah resources, as well as winter-themed pages.
http://www.elvesrus.com. Elves R Us claims to be the ''ultimate Christmas site,'' and there's no question those diminutive dudes have been busy. There are lots of links and an art section with no less than 46 pages to print out and color. The music is some of the best I've found on any site.
http://www.glorysite.com/kidmas.html. Traditional Christmas, Elvesville and Santa Land invite visitors. The art is all original and music accompanies each page.
http://users.50megs.com/star2000/12//Christmas.html. This is a wonderful personal site. Beautiful music and touching passages make this a good visit for a moment of peace.
